DCPIXEL

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about DCPIXEL's free, private image tools.

Is DCPIXEL really 100% free?

Yes. DCPIXEL is completely free with no paywalls, no premium plans, no daily limits, and no registration required. Because all processing happens locally in your browser, we have no server costs for file processing, allowing us to offer the service free permanently.

Does DCPIXEL upload my files to any server?

No. This is our core promise. All image processing happens exclusively in your browser using the HTML5 Canvas API and WebAssembly. Your files are read from your local storage into your device's RAM, processed there, and the result is handed back to you — without a single byte being transmitted to our servers or any third party.

What is the maximum file size I can upload?

Currently, DCPIXEL supports files up to 50MB per image. For batch operations (like merging multiple images into a PDF), you can upload multiple files up to 50MB each. The effective limit depends on your device's available RAM.

Which image formats are supported?

DCPIXEL supports JPG, JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, and for HEIC conversion (iPhone photos). Different tools support different input formats — each tool's upload area shows the accepted formats.

Does compressing or converting change my original file?

Never. DCPIXEL always creates a new file and downloads it to your device. Your original file remains completely untouched where it is stored on your computer or phone.

Why is DCPIXEL faster than other tools?

Traditional online tools require uploading your file to a server, queuing it for processing, running the operation, and giving you a download link. This involves multiple round-trips over the internet. DCPIXEL eliminates all of that — processing happens locally on your device, which is typically 10-50x faster for most operations.

Is DCPIXEL LGPD/GDPR compliant?

Yes. Because DCPIXEL processes all files locally and never receives your files, we are compliant with LGPD (Brazil's data protection law) and GDPR by architectural design. We cannot suffer a data breach of user files, because we physically possess zero user files.

What browsers are supported?

DCPIXEL works on all modern browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Safari (14+), and Edge. It works on Desktop, Android, and iOS devices. Internet Explorer is not supported.

Can I use DCPIXEL on mobile?

Yes. All tools are fully responsive and work on smartphones and tablets. Chrome on Android and Safari on iOS are both fully supported.

Why does my HEIC photo not show a preview?

HEIC (Apple's iPhone photo format) has limited browser support. While the conversion works, some browsers cannot display HEIC as a preview image. The conversion to JPG will still complete successfully when you click convert.

How do I convert multiple images to one PDF?

Navigate to any of our PDF converter tools (PNG to PDF, JPG to PDF, etc.), click "Select Images" and choose all your files at once, or add them one by one. You can then drag to reorder them before downloading the final PDF.

What YouTube thumbnail size should I use?

YouTube thumbnails should be 1280×720 pixels at a 16:9 aspect ratio, under 2MB, in JPG or PNG format. Our YouTube Thumbnail Resizer automatically crops any image to these exact specifications.
